My Journey with Heavy Metal Music

                                               JOURNEY WITH HEAVY METAL

Heavy metal music was always being in news for every other reason. It was the yesteryear era when heavy metal music became popular among kinds and teenagers, and everybody are looked  kids were growing their hair long, flashing the devils horn \m/ and playing air guitar. Critics thought it was unsophisticated music for unsophisticated people, some writers say it is 'sick', 'repulsive', horrible & dangerous. Religious groups launched a crusade against heavy metal and think that it created a satanic epidemic among teenagers. May be the reason was  that its lyrics glorifies and packages evil, then came the law suits, wherein metal artists were sued for causing kids commit suicides and  even doing murders. Still the journey continued to the fullest of its kind, u must be in a turbulence state predicting how do i know this all, being from the place i belong, there has been a craze for boy bands and Britney stuff and one cant imagine knowing what Heavy Metal music is all about.

It was the time when i first heard about Metallica who happens to be one of the biggest and the most popular heavy metal band in the world. I'd made sure that i listened to every possible gig of metallica, theres always been a one culture that i'd really wanted to study, i.e Heavy metal. Was supposedly have taken the study of anthropology in my college. However that wasn't included in the much hype fat pay job category which was suggested by my dad, so then had to go as per his wish. But that stargaze still remained uncharted. As and when the craze is taking its wannabe moulds, i was getting involved in the deepest part of it, which made me enter into the world of metal.

This music has millions of passionate fans worldwide, for the last 35 year this music is been consistently stereotyped, dismissed and condemned. The  music board has rated songs according to violence, sex, drugs, & alchohol  but many people aren’t aware of the  bands who play the material like  peace, standing up for your rights etc. Most metal songs  deal with much more provocative themes like religion, hatred, death & sexuality. The sound of evil has become a defining element of heavy metal music. Still its an unquestioned phrase for many of them which says ‘what makes metal sound evil', just because of the heavy & the gory vocals which get poured with the heavy thrash drums followed with a heavy base riff. Trust me one should take time out and listen to the gory vocals of 'Randy Blythe' of “Lamb of God”, i bet it makes one's gets goose bumps to the core.

I’ve being called as a Metal head, got changed a lot in the last couple of years, This culture actually  reflected in my behavior in a deeper sense. Ya ur  right ! my outer look was supposedly changed for sure, was actually maintaining a gotae beard, growing hair long, wearing those black colored Metal band T's. It did also created a wave in my behavior as well, something called care a damn attitude; its been a culture of a lot of metal heads,  if u say something. They have their own opinions, ok; this is the way i am, don't try to like the same music just because your friends likes it? And ya, don’t try to listen to what is popular. Its the kind of music which gives u the ability to stand up and say.. OK “screw u“if u don't like it, i give a damn “. U wont believe it, at times i still have people coming and asking me.. Aren’t u ever gonna leave that shit, u knw the t-shirts and the viered look ? ? I said “F^&k u “i wear it coz i like it. Its f&^@#%g popular, iam who iam, if that makes me a bloody dork or something....i just care a shit...may be u call it abnormal or a tribal attitude. I wake up, i have “Slayer” playing on my boom box, its like people read newspapers n stuf early in the morning, but my day starts with slayer and lamb of God, i mean its in my blood and in the air i breath. Trust me guys I’ve developed a kind of confidence in me after following this culture. People call this brutality and beastality, but I certainly call it “Divine” in my own sense.

This would be end of this blog, but yeah,  u can as well find the  Genres and its sub-genres of Metal music in my coming posts. Plz do add your comments on the above topic.
